MINI TENNIS RED LEAGUES (JAN TO MAR 2020)
The Mini Red Leagues will consist of a round robin elimination competition, with the winner from each of the 3 tier 1 venues progressing to a county final. Teams can enter in tier 1 (for stronger players), or tier 2 (for beginners)
Girls Only Competition
We are proposing to run a girls’ only red doubles competition again. The format will be a one day day competition on Sunday 15th March 2020 @ DL Coventry.
ELIGIBILITY, EVENTS AND FORMAT
A player may only represent one place to play in this competition. A player can “play up” once; if they play up for a second occasion they are then tied to that team or higher.
Players must be born in 2012 or later. We are adopting the age group changes, in advance, that are due to take place in April 2020. For 2011 born players who are currently eligible to play LTA red competition, we suggest that you enter them into an orange pair (see Green Orange Leagues).
Each rubber is a match tie-break to 10pts, sudden death at 9-9. As before, each player will get 2 singles and a doubles match.
Mixed Competition (@ DL Coventry, Tudor Grange & Edgbaston Priory)
Each team shall consist of four players, with at least one boy or one girl in the team. Therefore a team could be: 1 boy and 3 girls, 1 girl and 3 boys, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Girls Only Doubles Competition (hosted at DL Coventry)
Each team shall consist of 4 girls
Once the entry form has been submitted the team will be placed in a round robin box and informed of match dates and times. The team will compete against all others in the box on the dates and times listed. All matches will be played on a Sunday afternoon and at a local venue (either Tudor Grange, Edgbaston Priory Club or DL Coventry)
For the mixed competition, we will again be operating a two tier entry system (provided that there are sufficient numbers). Tier 1 will be for stronger/performance players and Tier 2 will be for club players who have not had much external competition experience.
There is a £5 entry fee per team that must be paid at the time of entry on tournamentsoftware. Teams will not be accepted if the entry fee has not been paid.
Each team will play £10.00 to the host venue prior to the start of the match. A fine will be in place for teams that fail to fulfill a fixture.
For the mixed event, the first Sunday of matches will be Sunday 19th January 2020. All matches will take place on a Sunday afternoon between midday and 6pm. Half-term weekends will be avoided. The County Finals (mixed event) will take place on Sunday 29th March 2020.
Entry is now processed online via the lta.tournament software site (you will need your club’s log in). It closes on Sunday 5th January 2020. Enter here:
